Vail is perhaps most well-known for the ski resort that shares its name, however, it has plenty more to be proud of. The small town has a population of just over 5000 people, and with its setting reminiscent of an Austrian village in the Alps, it would make for a great wedding destination. Beyond being home to the largest ski mountain in Colorado, Vail boasts amazing fine dining opportunities and luxurious accommodations. The mountain town experiences hot summers and cold snowy winters, so you can head down here whatever weather you prefer.

Our venue recommendations:

There are countless places to host your wedding in Vail. Sonnenalp Vail is a strong contender, winning multiple awards across the year for its wedding services. It also helps that the property offers amazing spa services, great golfing opportunities in the summer, and direct access to ski lifts during the winter.

6. Black Hawk

It may be the least populated town in Colorado with just over 100 people, but Black Hawk certainly packs a punch. The town grew as it saw large footfall during the gold rush of the 1860s, after which it declined, though many of its historic buildings were retained.

Our venue recommendation:

The 1990s was a turning point, and its ailing buildings were revitalized and restored. Ameristar Black Hawk Casino is one such sign of the town’s changing fortunes. The property offers three wedding venues, and its mountainous backdrop makes for magical photoshoot opportunities.
